Activities

On Wednesday, April 16th, our president Rolf Weberg along with Alice Dzuilko and

Judd Mosser attended the school board meeting. Rolf presented a letter and a petition

signed by the parents asking for the inclusion of a modified track & field program in the

2008-9 district budget. He also requested that paid coaches be added to the existing

modified cross country program that is without them. His request was well received and

discussed by the board. The following week Superintendent Bodziak and Athletic Director

Fred Thornley included funding for a modifed track and field team for the upcoming year

in the final budget. It was passed unanimously by the school board.

Thanks to the past support of parents and members of the East Aurora community,

the East Aurora Track & Field/Cross Country Booster Club has been able to provide for

the track & field teams:

• a portable scoreboard for the home meets

• Gatorade for the team at the meets and invitationals

• a concession stand for home meets

• Athlete-of-the-Meet t-shirts

• team rosters with parents names included

• parent volunteers to help out at the home meets

• photos for the EAHS yearbook, EAHS Track & Field yearbook, the East Aurora

Advertiser and the East Aurora Bee

• plaques for the State Champions

For the cross country teams, the club has been able to provide:

• collapsable bins for storing warms-ups at the start of races

• Gatorade for the meets and invitationals

• EAHS X-C embroidered knit caps and gloves for all team members

• team rosters with parents names included

• t-shirts at the banquet to all team members

• photos for the EAHS yearbook, EAHS Cross Country yearbook, the East Aurora

Advertiser and the East Aurora Bee

• plaques for the State Champions

• financial help for the teams when they travel
